What is "Glocca Morra"
Glocca Morra is experiential hospitality at its finest. It’s a place where families and friends gather, life slows, and the North’s spirit works its quiet magic. From summer evenings to winter days, every moment becomes a memory that lingers long after you leave.
The name Glocca Morra comes from an old Irish expression — one you might recognize from the song “How Are Things in Glocca Morra?” in the 1940s musical Finian’s Rainbow. In the story, Glocca Morra isn’t a pinpoint on a map, but a mythical place of joy, nostalgia, and belonging. It’s that perfect spot you dream about when life gets too busy — where the air feels lighter, the days feel longer, and the world seems just right.
For our family, Glocca Morra became the perfect name for this lakefront retreat. It reflects exactly what we want our guests to feel: that blend of comfort and wonder you find in a place that feels like it’s been waiting just for you. A place you never want to leave, and the one you can’t wait to come back to.

Our Story
We’re Cal, Gracie, and our daughter Goldie Arnold — a family based in Bozeman, Montana, but forever tied to the lakes of northern Minnesota. Cal grew up just 30 miles from Lake Belle Taine, spending his childhood on the water — kayaking, sailing a Sunfish, waterskiing, wakeboarding, fishing, and in the winters, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and skating all day and night.
For years, Cal dreamed of returning to these waters — not just for himself, but to recreate the magic his grandfather and parents once gave him on Toad Lake: long summer days on the shore, laughter carrying across the water, and memories that last a lifetime. That dream became reality when we found Glocca Morra — a rare four-acre retreat with 350 feet of pristine shoreline, towering tamaracks and sturdy hardwoods, a sandy beach, a lakeside campfire ring, and a traditional outdoor Finnish sauna overlooking the water, where you can watch the sunset in every season.
